Life of josutty enthusiasm movie#
At times, one almost forgets that you are watching a movie in 2015. Varma together have brought the 80’s alive. The Art director Ajay Mangad, Costume designer and State Award Winner Sameera Saneesh and Cinematographer Pradeesh M. The big stars of Kohinoor are however from the technical end. Indrajith plays Haider well as usual, but it is a wonder how such a fine actor as him is constantly attracted to the same role he has done in countless many other films. He has even styled his hairstyle like Mohanlal’s. ( A notable one being when ‘Nicolas’ (Chemban Vinod) remarked ‘Freddy'(Vinay Fort) as “Shankaradi” with glasses!)Īsif Ali get his biggest mass entry in the film as he reprises the final scene from the 80’s classic, Mohanlal’s ‘Irupatham Nootandu’. Having said that, the movie handles humor well with situational comedy sequences and one liners that can be remembered even after the film. Even with the predictability of the story, it is engaging enough to get to the end.
And this simple fact gives the impression that it is a long film to sit through.
The movie takes the entire first half to introduce the characters and their lives to get to the actual plot that takes place in the second half. Kohinoor is a simple heist film set in the 80’s with no major twists or turns. Once again we witness the magic of the 80’s which is the theme this year amongst most film makers in Mollywood. Thankfully that is not the case in Kohinoor. Director Vinay Govind debuted with ‘Kili Poyi’ which wasn’t really a family affair.
